Editorial Process
Submission
During this process, the layout of the content of the manuscript must follow the HIJP article template
- Manuscripts are submitted by authors through the OJS system
- The section editor performs a pre-review to review the suitability of the manuscript with the journal's scientific field (focus and scope); freedom of text content from similarity without citation; availability of study data in the 'results' section; and compiling a bibliography bibliography using a reference manager
Pre-review provides flexibility for interaction between writers and editors through a review-revision scheme. Through this scheme, if progress is made to improve the content of the manuscript, the section editor will process the manuscript to the review section. Manuscripts that do not enter the review process will be returned to the author (rejected).
Review
Review is the second process in a series of editorial processes before the manuscript is published as an article. At the heart of this process is a peer reviewer review and a final review by the Chief Editor (post-review/post-review).
- Review by peer-reviewer
The editor appoints a review partner to conduct a peer review. With the diversity of scientific fields covered by HIJP, this is where the main role of bestari partners is expected. The selected bestari partners are managed according to the field of study in the manuscript and their expertise.
The interaction is moderated by the editor and the writer as well as the reviewer partners who do not know each other's identities (double-blind). In this process, the bestari partner will fill out a review form which functions as a medium of communication to the author. So that in addition to sending the manuscript revision, the author also needs to attach a form as a response to the review partner.
- Review by editor-in-chief (Post-review)
Manuscripts recommended by bestari partners to be accepted will be submitted back to the Chief editor. The chief editor will review based on the publication ethics carried out by the author during the review process of the bestari partner and re-test the similarity of the contents of the manuscript.
If the manuscript is accepted, the publisher then issues a Letter of Acceptance/LOA so that the next process is proofreading.
Grammar fixes (proofreading)
The manuscript will enter the process of grammar correction and readjustment of the content of the manuscript with the HIJP article template layout. At this stage, all authors must mention their contributions (HIJP adopted the Contributor Roles Taxonomy) and authorize their ORCID Id account to HIJP (authorization, not manually pasting ORCID iD).
Manuscripts that have entered this process can be published in an abstract (online first) edition.
Layout improvements (production)
Layout adjustments, the manuscript is returned to the author for approval. The manuscript metadata will be completed and updated according to the applicable Metadata Filling Standards in HIJP
Publication
The editor publishes the full version of the article. Articles published by HIJP receive a Digital Object Identifier/DOI and their metadata is continuously maintained by the publisher. Published articles can be claimed for authorship according to the needs of the author, whether to be used for promotion, presentation or dissemination. What is no less important is that authors need to spread their articles through social media platforms, websites, or even claim them on Publons, Mendeley, Sciprofile and ORCID iD.
