Abstract

Latar belakang: Biofilm merupakan salah satu faktor utama yang menghambat penyembuhan ulkus diabetikum dan meningkatkan risiko infeksi kronis. Polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB) diketahui memiliki aktivitas antibiofilm yang potensial dalam perawatan luka modern. Tujuan: Menganalisis pengaruh kompres PHMB terhadap biofilm pada ulkus diabetikum di Klinik Alfacare Center Kota Bengkulu. Metode: Penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain quasi-experiment menggunakan pretest–posttest with control group. Sampel berjumlah 44 responden yang dibagi menjadi kelompok intervensi (n=22) dan kelompok kontrol (n=22) melalui teknik purposive sampling. Biofilm diukur menggunakan lembar observasi biofilm tervalidasi. Analisis data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon dan Mann–Whitney. Hasil: Rerata skor biofilm kelompok intervensi turun dari 6,86±0,94 menjadi 2,41±0,50, dan kelompok kontrol dari 7,27±0,83 menjadi 4,45±0,90. Penurunan signifikan pada kedua kelompok (p=0,0001; p=0,001), dan uji Mann–Whitney menunjukkan kompres PHMB berpengaruh signifikan (p=0,001). Kesimpulan: Kompres PHMB berpengaruh signifikan dalam menurunkan biofilm pada ulkus diabetikum fase proliferasi. Saran: PHMB dapat direkomendasikan sebagai bagian dari perawatan luka modern untuk pengendalian biofilm pada ulkus diabetikum
