Abstract

Stunting refers to the condition of a child's height being shorter than the height appropriate for his or her age. 2019 shows that the number of stunted toddlers in Indonesia is 27.67 percent and is still a public health problem. The prevalence of stunting in Southeast Sula-wesi Province in 2021, there are five regions with red status with a stunting prevalence above 30% and there are 12 districts and cities with yellow status with a prevalence above 20-30% one of which is North Konawe. Based on this data, it is hoped that all parties will support and take part in caring and taking action in efforts to prevent stunting in children, including women of childbearing age. This community service applies previous research conducted by the proposer regarding maternal factors related to the incidence of stunting. There is a need for education for women of childbearing age, especially in increasing knowledge about the importance of nutrition during pregnancy, exclusive breastfeeding, MP-ASI, baby growth and development which can break the chain of stunting in toddlers. It is hoped that women of childbearing age will become agents for preventing stunting. The community service method carried out is educational and participatory outreach, targeting women of childbearing age. Providing education to women of childbearing age in an effort to prevent early stunting can increase understanding of women of childbearing age about the importance of nutrition during pregnancy, exclusive breastfeeding, MP-ASI, baby growth and development in efforts to prevent stunting.
