Every manuscript submitted to JMLD undergoes a mandatory similarity check before entering the peer review process, ensuring that all published work represents genuine and properly attributed scientific contribution.

All incoming manuscripts are processed through iThenticate, an industry-standard plagiarism detection system, to generate a similarity report cross-referenced against a large database of academic journals, books, and web content. The editorial team reviews this report as part of the initial manuscript screening stage.

Manuscript proceeds directly to peer review.

20% – 30% — Caution

Authors are required to revise and reduce overlapping text before review continues.

Above 30% — Rejected

Manuscript is desk-rejected without proceeding to peer review.

Self-Plagiarism and Text Recycling

Reusing substantial portions of an author's own previously published work — including methods sections, results, or discussion — without proper citation or disclosure is also considered a form of plagiarism. Authors reporting on an extended or related study must clearly disclose the prior publication and explain how the new submission differs.

Author Responsibility
Cite All Sources

Properly attribute every idea, method, dataset, or text passage drawn from another source, including the author's own prior work.

Use Quotation Marks

Directly copied text, even when cited, must be enclosed in quotation marks and clearly identified as a direct quote.

Paraphrase Responsibly

Paraphrased content must still be attributed to its original source, not simply reworded to avoid detection.

Check Before Submission

Authors are encouraged to run an independent similarity check using reference management tools before submitting to JMLD.
