IMPROVING MATERNAL SKILLS IN GIVING BABY MASSAGES AT THE AGE OF 0-6 MONTHS IN THE COVERAGE AREA OF THE MAMBURUNGAN HEALTH CENTER IN TARAKAN CITY

Abstract

Every parent wants their baby to grow and develop optimally, especially at the age of 0-6 months unfortunately, during the pandemic, they cannot take their little one to a baby spa or call the services of a masseuse as usual. Baby massage provides benefits for both mother and baby. Information about baby massage techniques alone causes mothers not to massage their babies independently. The provision of baby massage classes is expected to provide skills to mothers to be more optimal in increasing children's growth and development independently.   The purpose of the activity is to teach and improve the skills of mothers in giving baby massages independently to their babies. The method carried out is to practice baby massage with the stages of socialization of baby massage material, simulation and demonstration of massage and baby massage assistance carried out by the baby's mother. The result of the service was that this activity was held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at the Mamburungan Air Force Satrad Hall, which was attended by 20 mothers with babies 0-6 months, 1 posyandu cadre, and 1 midwife, 4 lecturers and 2 students. This activity is able to provide information, knowledge and also improve the skills of mothers who have toddlers 0-6 months to be able to do baby massage independently.
