Community Empowerment in Efforts to Recognize, Prevent and Handle Stunting Community in Sawa Village, North Konawe Regency in 2023

Abstract

Stunting is a nutritional problem caused by a lack of nutritional intake for a long time during the first 1000 days of life (HPK) which is a critical period. resulting in growth disorders in children, namely the child's height is lower or shorter (dwarf) than the standard for their age. This stunting condition is indicated by the z-score value of height according to age (TB/U index) <-2 SD based on WHO standards. The method used is persuasive and educational by combining lecture and question and answer methods. This is intended to increase the knowledge of respondents after completing activities using several extension media. The results of the analysis of the questionnaire data showed that the lowest value during the pre-test was 20, and the highest value during the pre-test was 80. After the education was carried out, the lowest value was 80 and the highest value was 100. Based on these data, it can be concluded that there was an increase in maternal knowledge after being given education about the introduction, prevention and handling of stunting. Community service activities regarding the introduction, prevention and handling of stunting in Sawa Village, North Konawe Regency have been carried out well according to the predetermined schedule. The conclusion of the activity was that 100% of mothers experienced an increase in knowledge about the introduction, prevention and handling of stunting after being given education in the form of counseling with a good level of knowledge.
