Education through Provision of Bitter Fruit Pudding Mixed Young Coconut Water and Sweet Orange on Lowering Blood Pressure in Hypertension Sufferers at the Harapan Kita Social Institution Palembang City
Abstract
The diagnosis of hypertension is established if the systolic blood pressure is above 140 mmHg and the diastolic is above 90 mmHg on two measurements five minutes apart in a calm or resting state. According to WHO (2019), of around 1.13 billion people who suffer from hypertension, less than 1 in 5 has it. Riskesdas data for 2018 the prevalence of high blood pressure at the age of > 18 years is 34.1%. while for South Sumatra it is 30.44%. Based on the data obtained, the number of cases of hypertension in Palembang City in 2017 was 79,192 cases. And in 2018 there were 97,636 cases. The method used in this service is training and teaching to hypertensive patients at the Harapan Kita Social Home for the Elderly in Palembang City. The conclusion of this community service is the increased nutritional intake of Hypertension participants which can be seen from the results of counseling, booklets and patient recalls, increasing skills and knowledge of the benefits of beetroot pudding mixed with young coconut water and sweet oranges in an effort to meet energy, protein, potassium nutrient intake and vitamin C in Hypertension participants at the Harapan Kita Social Home for the Elderly.
