Journal History

A scholarly platform built by the Department of Midwifery, Poltekkes Kemenkes Kendari, to advance evidence-based midwifery and reproductive health knowledge.

Our Foundation

The Journal of Midwifery, Maternal and Reproductive Health Studies (J2MR) is an academic journal published by the Department of Midwifery (Jurusan Kebidanan), Poltekkes Kemenkes Kendari, dedicated to the development and dissemination of scientific knowledge in midwifery, maternal health, and reproductive health.

J2MR serves as a scholarly platform for publishing original research, literature reviews, case studies, and evidence-based practice innovations relevant to the reproductive health continuum—from adolescent reproductive health and pregnancy through childbirth, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and family planning.

The Meaning Behind J2MR

The name J2MR reflects the journal's three interconnected pillars of scholarship: Midwifery, Maternal Health, and Reproductive Health. Each published article is intended to strengthen the scientific foundation that underlies safe, respectful, and evidence-based midwifery care—supporting the health and well-being of women, mothers, and families across the reproductive life course.

Multidisciplinary Integration

While its core focus remains midwifery, maternal, and reproductive health, J2MR also accommodates contributions from closely related health disciplines that intersect with maternal-reproductive care, in recognition of the collaborative nature of maternal health services:

Nursing
Nutrition
Public Health
Medicine
Health Laboratory
Health Promotion

This multidisciplinary scope supports cross-professional collaboration between midwives, nurses, nutritionists, and public health practitioners to generate comprehensive, integrated solutions for maternal and reproductive health challenges in Indonesia and beyond.
