Why J2MR Supports Open Access

Given the direct relevance of midwifery, maternal, and reproductive health research to clinical practice and public health policy, J2MR believes that unrestricted access accelerates the translation of evidence into practice. Open access enables:

  • Midwives, nurses, and clinicians in low-resource settings to access up-to-date, evidence-based knowledge without financial barriers.
  • Policymakers and public health practitioners to draw directly upon published findings to strengthen maternal and reproductive health programs.
  • Researchers worldwide to build upon, cite, and further develop the scientific work published in J2MR.
  • Greater visibility, citation potential, and societal impact for the authors who publish their work in the journal.
