BALANCED NUTRITION EDUCATION FOR INFANTS AND TODDLERS

Toddlers are children aged 1-5 years who experience rapid growth and development. The nutritional status of infants and toddlers is one of the indicators used to measure the nutritional status of a community. Toddlers and infants are one of the age groups that are vulnerable to disease, one of which is malnutrition. The objective of this activity is to provide knowledge to mothers with infants and toddlers about the definition of balanced nutrition, the nutritional needs of infants and toddlers, and proper feeding patterns for infants and toddlers. This educational activity was conducted at the Beberan Village Health Post and was attended by 20 mothers of infants and toddlers. The educational activity was conducted using leaflets and the KIA book, with pre-tests and post-tests to evaluate the success of the activity. Overall, the activity demonstrated effective results in improving mothers' knowledge about balanced nutrition, with 30% of respondents having good knowledge, 40% having adequate knowledge, and 25% having insufficient knowledge before the education activity. After the education program, the results showed that 70% of respondents had good knowledge, 30% had adequate knowledge, and none had insufficient knowledge. This educational activity was conducted as an effort to support government policies aimed at reducing nutritional issues among infants and toddlers.
