REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH EDUCATION FOR ADOLESCENTS TO EMPOWER PEERS IN DEVELOPING HEALTHY ADOLESCENTS IN SOROPIA DISTRICT, KONAWE REGENCY

Adolescence is a period that requires special attention. Regulations related to adolescence, particularly knowledge about healthy living, need to be addressed to prevent misunderstandings about reproductive health. Adolescents need to acquire the correct knowledge regarding unwanted pregnancy, abortion, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), drug abuse, and HIV/AIDS, to avoid promiscuity, which can damage their future. As a first step in prevention, increasing adolescent knowledge requires educating young women on how to mobilize their peers to foster healthy adolescents. This activity was held at Soropia Junior High School I. Thirty students participated, divided into two classes. The activity was conducted in collaboration with the school to avoid disrupting school hours. The formation of adolescents and those interested in becoming health activists mobilized their peers. Materials provided included topics such as unwanted pregnancy, abortion, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), drug abuse, and HIV/AIDS, as well as personal hygiene and reproductive health. The results of the measurement of adolescent knowledge in motivating peers in forming healthy adolescents obtained the results of the average value of knowledge of pregnant women during the pretest was 86.7, all participants experienced an increase in knowledge with an average of 100.00 (good category according to Arikunto).
