Pain, Sectio caesareaAbstract
Sectio caesarea (SC) deliveries have increased in various parts of the world, including in Indonesia. The main complaint after sectio caesarea delivery is pain with varying intensity. Untreated pain causes discomfort or pain to the mother which can hamper the recovery process. One of the nonpharmacological methods to treat post sectio caesarea pain is Slow Stroke Back Massage. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Slow Stroke Back Massage on the intensity of post sectio caesarea pain. The research design used was Quasy Experiment, with a Pre-Post-Test control group design approach. The population in this study were all post-cesarean section mothers at the Nahdhatul Ulama' Hospital (RSNU) Jombang. The sample size in this study was 34 respondents using the purposive sampling technique which was divided into 2 groups, namely the SSBM group (n=17) and the control group (n=17). The instrument used to observe pain is the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). Data were analyzed using the Paired T-Test and the Independent T-Test. The results showed that there was an effect of Slow Stroke Back Massage on the intensity of post sectio caesarea pain with a value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05). There is a difference in the effect between the SSBM group and the control group on the intensity of post-cesarean section pain (p<0.05) Slow Stroke Back Massage is effective because of light touch and massage techniques that can produce a feeling of relaxation in the body.
