Abstract

Infertility is a reproductive health problem that is often overlooked. One of the common complaints in women of childbearing age with infertility is dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea is pain or cramps in the abdomen and lower back during menstruation which is a sign of hormonal imbalance and ovarian problems that can interfere with fertility. Wet cupping therapy can be used to overcome various women's reproductive health problems including fertility disorders, menstrual cycles and dysmenorrhea. This study aims to determine the effect of wet cupping therapy on the scale of dysmenorrhea pain in women of childbearing age with infertility in Kendari City. The research design used a quasi-experiment. The sample was 30 suburban women who experienced infertility with complaints of dysmenorrhea in Kendari City with a purposive sampling technique. Wet cupping therapy was given once a month for 2 consecutive months. The results of the paired t-test statistical test showed a significant decrease in the scale of menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) in the intervention group with a p-value of 0.00 compared to the control group with a p-value of 0.32. Wet cupping therapy is useful for balancing hormones and reducing prostaglandin levels so that it can reduce the scale of menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) in women of childbearing age with infertility.
