FACTORS RELATED TO MEN'S PARTICIPATION IN USING CONTRACEPTIVES IN GUNUNG MULIA VILLAGE, BABULU DISTRICT, NORTH PENAJAM PASER REGENCY IN 2021

The number of population growth in Indonesia is still high so that family planning programs must be continuously promoted, one of which is by increasing the participation of men in using contraceptives. Male family planning participants in Indonesia are still low at less than 8% and men who participate in using contraceptives in Gunung Mulia Village are still low, namely only 2% condoms and none of them use MOP. Methods : the research method is cross sectional, the population is all men in Gunung Mulia Village as many as 425 people with a total sample of 54 people using purposive sampling technique. The research instrument is a questionnaire. The technique of analyzing data is univariate frequency distribution and bivariate chi square and multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression. Results: Most of the men's knowledge about contraceptives is not good, namely 72.2%, the education of men is mostly low, namely 66.7%, most of the men are affected by patriarchal culture, namely 68.5%, access to health services is mostly difficult , namely 57 4%, there is a relationship between knowledge and male participation in using contraceptives, p value 0.000, there is a relationship between education and male participation, p value 0.000. There is a relationship between patriarchal culture and male participation, p value 0.000. There is a relationship between access to health services with male participation p value 0.000. There is a relationship between knowledge, education, patriarchal culture and access to health services with the participation of men using contraceptives in Gunung Mulia Village, Babulu District, North Penajam Paser Regency with ap value of 0.000. patriarchal culture is the most dominant factor influencing male participation in using contraceptives. Conclusion : male participation is influenced by knowledge, education, patriarchal culture and access to health services, the most dominant factor influencing is patriarchal culture.
