Pengaruh Pelatihan Kader terhadap Pengetahuan dan Sikap tentang Pemberian MP-ASI

Abstract

The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia is still high enough that it requires the role of all cross-sectors. One of the causes of stunting is the provision of breast milk complementary foods which is less than optimal and incorrect due to lack of information and knowledge related to it. Posyandu cadres who are the spearhead of health in the community have a very strategic role as educators for mothers. Cadres need to be empowered to convey information to the community about the provision of complementary food as a step to prevent and detect stunting. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of cadre training on the provision of complementary food on knowledge and attitudes in giving complementary food. The research design is quasi-experimental with the population of this study is the entire Posyandu cadre in Kendari City. The study sample of 92 people consisted of an intervention group of 46 people and Control of 46 people. The research was carried out in the working areas of Puskesmas Abeli, Puskesmas Mokoau, Puskesmas Nambo and Puskesmas Poasia. Data analysis using Wilcoxon test and Mann Whitney test using STATA software. The results showed that there were differences in knowledge values and attitudes of the intervention group before and after training (p=0.000), there were differences in knowledge scores and attitudes between the two groups (p=0.000). This shows that there is an influence of cadre training on the provision of breast milk complementary foods on the knowledge and attitude of cadres towards the provision of breast milk complementary foods.
