Evaluation Study of The Quality of The Use of Giemsa Dye in Malaria Microscopic Examination in The Laboratory of Health Service Facilities in The City of Jayapura in 2023

Ringkasan: Latar belakang: Pemeriksaan mikroskopis dengan pewarnaan Giemsa tetap menjadi standar emas diagnosis malaria. Kualitas pewarnaan Giemsa bervariasi antarprodusen sehingga berkontribusi terhadap kesalahan diagnosis dan variabilitas hasil antarlaboratorium. Tujuan: Mengevaluasi kualitas penggunaan pewarna Giemsa pada pemeriksaan mikroskopis malaria di laboratorium fasilitas layanan kesehatan Kota Jayapura. Metode: Penelitian deskriptif cross-sectional pada 20 laboratorium menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner manajemen pewarnaan Giemsa dan uji kualitas dengan metode kertas saring Whatman No.2. Hasil: Manajemen pewarnaan menunjukkan 45% memperoleh Giemsa dari toko kesehatan, 90% menggunakan air mineral sebagai pengencer, 85% tidak menyaring larutan, dan 55% tidak melakukan quality control. Uji kertas saring menunjukkan 65% terdapat lingkaran biru methylene blue, 75% lingkaran ungu methylene azur, dan 55% lingkaran merah eosin. Simpulan: Sebanyak 60% laboratorium telah menangani Giemsa dengan baik. Saran: Standardisasi prosedur pewarnaan sesuai pedoman Kementerian Kesehatan untuk mengoptimalkan diagnosis malaria.
