THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE SIGA MODULE AND MODELING ON KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ABOUT FAMILY EMERGENCY IN THE COASTAL AREA, MAMUJU DISTRICT

Abstract

Emergency conditions continue to be a threat that needs to be considered, both in the form of daily emergencies and due to disasters. Therefore, providing health education regarding emergency conditions and their handling for lay people is the main thing. Combining learning methods using modules and modeling methods is believed to be able to provide convenience for the community to learn about emergencies. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the SIGA module and modeling on knowledge and skills about family emergencies in the coastal area of ??Mamuju District. The research design was a quasi-experimental approach with a One-group pretest-posttest design approach. The instruments used are questionnaires and observation sheets. The sample in this study was 30 people, who were selected by purposive sampling method. The results showed that the SIGA module and modeling were significantly effective on knowledge and skills about family emergencies with p value = <0.001. The results of this study can be the basis for emergency activists in providing training for the community, so as to improve the chain of survival in managing daily emergency cases
