Abstract

The potential utilization of local foods such as Moringa leaves, katuk leaves, young papaya, and banana flower can be utilized as a breast milk booster by the breastfeeding mothers. Education about utilization of local food ingredients as a breast milk booster is needed so that breastfeeding mothers and their families can apply the knowledge gained to increase breast milk production. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge of breastfeeding mothers and their families about utilization of local food ingredients as a breast milk booster. The method used is a question and answer lecture by providing modules. The location of community service is carried out in Telaga Biru Village, Soropia District, Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. The pre-posttest results showed an increase in the participants' knowledge from an average knowledge score of 68.5 to 89 after being given education. Through this community service, it is hoped that mothers can maximize the consumption of local food stuffs which can increase milk production so that the mother can breastfeed successfully.
