Abstract

Drugs are substances/drugs obtained through plants or non-plants either synthetically or semi-synthetically. Abuse of Narcotics and Addictive Substances (Drugs) in Indonesia is a very concerning problem, especially for today's young people who continue to be close to Drugs. The purpose of this study was to identify the bond between knowledge and behavior with drug prevention actions in public health students at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra. This study has a cross sectional design and is quantitative in nature. The research population was 2020 Public Health Study Program Students at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra. With a population of 450 students, and a sample size of 40 students using the simple random sampling method. With p value = 0.037 (p value 0.05), the results of this study show that there is a relationship between knowledge and prevention of drug use. In addition, attitudes and drug addiction prevention measures are related to a p value of 0.032 (p value of 0.05).
